Designer.

'So the rule of thumb is that a great designer will seek ways via design to alter things that can serve to be more beneficial to the public and community or attitude for design that may begin as a puzzle and all we can do is link those pieces together in such way that it can provide a solid picture. ‘Paul Bennett: Finds design in details’ at ted talks says ‘the blinding glimpse of the bleeding obvious’ by implementing this rule of thumb, and understanding what exactly Bennett means, we as Designers can do great things. 2 Wings - Poem

Mysterious and beautiful is the body.
Many of it's parts work as two.
They would never work better alone.
as eyes see together, legs walk too.

Compare this to LOVE
the two couples are like the eyes
not one eye sees more than the other
a couple who visions alike
everything is transparent and uncovered for each other

Compare legs, when one stumbles
the other supports
two legs two couples
when one falls the other one holds

We use our legs to walk and conquer
what lies ahead we ‘us’ see like no other
everything is balanced in one way or another
as one wing can’t fly without the other.

Environmental Psychology in Architecture

How important is it for architects to trigger thoughts, feelings, behaviours, creativity, focus and relaxation of individuals via the use of Environmental Psychology applied in Architecture? It is Scientifically proven that if you apply Psychology in Architecture, you can just about with any person change their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, creativity, focus and relaxation.

This type of Psychology is most beneficial in Education and Health Care Architecture. I remember visiting a school in south east London just after they had done the extensions and renovations. What mostly got my interest on the tour visit was the use of height ceilings in the classrooms. It is believed that students who are taught in a room of a high ceiling classroom tend to do a lot better in test papers compare to the ones with an average height ceiling. Also on this note, students who are exposed to nature and not man made structures  within a school environement tend to have a more relaxed focus and concentrations compare to the ones that don't. Other than greenery and height ceilings, a very crucial part of our natural world, has a very powerful source that we can use, and that is 'Light' Some institutions lack in this advantage use, which means that the majority parts of buildings do not have enough natural light penetrating through. Research shows that the kids in classrooms with the least daylight had disrupted levels of cortisol, a hormone that is regulated by the body’s circadian rhythms. Ample of sunlight has shown to prove students outcome.

It is very crucial, even at home to have an environment for the family that you maximize these possibilities, by the use of light, colour and natural materials as well. It is Scientifically proven that these all have positive effect on the human psyche. The elements can be noticed by the immediate feel of difference when entering a space that is I guess composed for a well being. Architects have long believed that the place we inhabit can nest or perhaps nurture our thoughts, feelings and behavior.

Ancient Greeks have said 'you can't enjoy a good health in a bad building'
Thanks for Reading, Plenty more to come, but in detail.

Unending Love ∞

Unending Love
I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times,
In life after life, in age after age forever.

My spell-bound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms In life after life, in age after age forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, its age-old pain, Its ancient tale of being apart or together,
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge Clad in the light of a
pole-star piercing the darkness of time: You become an image of what is remembered forever

Idealism in Architecture

Alain de botton in his series 'The perfect home' on channel four talks about how in the 18th century Germany would have great super composed statues with immense scale ratio placed upon buildings, this was to inspire the general public with ideals and power. Architects have always had the influence to aspire the general public with idealisms and reflect what was valuable about the culture.

I think that this is gradually changing. The other day I got on the train to Victoria from Bromley south. I was seated on the left side in the train carriage, just before arriving at Victoria I looked up at this real estate flats and saw a static steel fabric kite upon the top floor in the balcony and said to my self  'I love the idea of that, that is what I call idealism' I think now we can easily associate our selves with these childish cynical un-rectangular cubism forms. As I believe these forms tend to aspire us and move us away from the radical thoughts maybe?
I truly wish I had the picture so I could share it with everyone.
